Away from the roll of the sea

Small craft in the Harbour that's still and serene

Given no indication what their ways have been.

They rock at their moorings all nestled in dreams,

Away from the Roll of the Sea.

Their stern lines are groaning a lullaby air

A ghost in the cuddy, a gull on the spar.

But never they whisper of journeys afar,

Away from the roll of the Sea

Oh, had they the tongues for to speak

What tales of adventure they'd weave

But now they are anchored to sleep and to slumber alee.

Come fair winds to wake them tomorrow we pray

Come harvest aplenty to them everyday

Till guided by harbour lights they're home to stay

거친 파도에서 벗어나

고요하고 평화로운 항구의 조그마한 배들

지난 여정에 대해 말이 없이

항구에서 꿈꾸듯 편안히 정박해 쉬고있네

거친 파도에서 벗어나

자장가처럼 울리는 배들의 삐걱 소리

선실에 어른거리는 그림자, 돗대에 앉은 갈매기

하지만, 먼 여행이 어땠는지 말이 없네

거친 파도에서 벗어나

오, 하고싶은 이야기는 많을거야,

지난 항해가 얼마나 고단했는지....

하지만, 이제는 휴식을 위해 닻을 내리네

꾸벅 꾸벅 졸면서

기도하네, 내일에는 순풍이 불어오기를,

매일 매일 만선을 이루기를,

등대의 인도로 고향에 무사히 귀환 할 때까지

거친 파도에서 벗어나
