Shadows fall on the prairie

Day is done and the sun is slowly fading out of sight

I can hear, oh, so clear a call that echoes in the night

Yes, I hear sweet and clear the call of the faraway hills

초원에 땅거미가 지면

하루가 끝나고 태양도 서서히 시야에서 사라져 가네

오, 한밤중에도 나는 메아리치며 부르는 소리를 똑똑히 들을 수 있다네

저 먼 산이 다정하고 또렷하게 부르는 소리가 들려오네

There's no rest on the prairie

There's no rest for a restless soul that just was born to roam

Who can say, maybe way out there my heart may find a home

And I hear sweet and clear the call of the faraway hills

​초원에는 휴식이란 없다네

방랑할 팔자로 태어나 쉴 곳 없이 떠도는 영혼에겐 휴식이란 없다네

혹시나 저 멀리 어딘가에 내 영혼이 쉴 수 있는 집이라도 있는 걸까

저 먼 산이 다정하고 또렷하게 부르는 소리가 들려오네

내가 여태 가 본 적이 없는 길이 나 있고

내 꿈은 그 길로 향하고 있네

그리고 해지는 곳 저 너머에는

새로운 설레임이 있겠지

새로운 꿈 한둘이 멀리 별이 되어 빛날 때면

나는 저 먼 산이 부르는 소리를 따라가야 한다네
